Baumer Hübner
Baumer Hubner GmbH is a world-renowned German manufacturer of encoders for heavy industry. The company was founded in 1934 in Berlin by Mr Johannes Hübner, and was called Johannes Hübner Fabrik elektrischer Maschinen. In 1944 the company's headquarters, which were moved to Upper Silesia, were destroyed in the war. In 1945, Hubner begins a relaunch in Planufer, Berlin. In 2002, BAUMERelectric AG becomes the new majority shareholder in Hubner Berlin, thus merging the two companies to form Baumer Hubner. Hubner's HeavyDuty technology was the perfect complement to BAUMER's innovative sensor technology.
Today, the holding company is headquartered in Berlin, Germany. The company has more than 500 employees. The company has subsidiaries and production plants in Switzerland, Portugal, France, Great Britain, Italy, Poland, Russia, Finland, Turkey, China, India, Israel, the USA and other countries.
The company's products offer a number of advantages, such as double protection for electronics, double-sided mounting for high stress tolerance and stress-insulated steel shafts. The company offers 86 different encoder versions with different connection alternatives for easy installation and for use in corrosive environments. The products are vibration proof, explosion proof, shock proof and have a wide operating temperature range (-50 ... 100 °C). Incremental encoders, sine encoders (resolvers) as well as absolute and explosion-proof encoders and tachogenerators form the backbone of the company's products.
Baumer Hubner's excellent technical characteristics, heavy-duty capability and excellent quality allow Baumer Hubner products to be widely used in industries such as:
- wind power plants;
- paper industry;
- steel industry;
- metallurgy;
- mining industry;
- manufacturing of rolling mills; manufacturing of portal cranes;
- manufacturing of lifts, refrigeration plants;
- the field of automation of material handling in terminals and warehouses;
- explosion hazardous production;
- other sectors.
Baumer Hübner products
Pulse sensors
Pulse encoders are instruments for measuring speed and position in drive engineering. The company provides pulse encoders in heavy-duty versions, with or without their own bearings. The company's devices feature a two-year warranty under the terms of the Association of the German Electrical Industry (ZVEI).
Absolute encoders
The special feature of the absolute encoders with LowHarmonics technology from Baumer Hübner is the low harmonic content of the sinusoidal signals.
Absolute encoders
Multiturn absolute encoders are used in electric actuator engineering to record the number of completed turns as well as the position at the time of the last turn.
Ferraris acceleration encoders
Speed-controlled discs meet the ever-increasing demands for dynamics, smooth running and resistance to external stimuli. Susceptibility to vibration has been reduced to the greatest extent possible.
Tachometers
Analog Tachometers (tachometer, DC tachometer) are instruments for measuring actual speed values which combine high controllability and robustness in engine design.
Speed diverters
Speed shifters are used for controlling and limiting speed. These include: mechanical speed switches, electronic speed switches, digital speed switches. Mechanical speed switches are used for monitoring speed safety in motor design, regardless of the control system. Electronic speed switches, use a rectified voltage, and one or more potentiometers, which are set so that one or more relays operate when the speed limit is reached. Digital speed switches, use HTL or TTL signals from a rotary encoder independently of the drive control system, and generate an output signal for each of the three separately adjustable speeds. This feature can be used to implement a safety or quality control function.
Explosion-proof devices
The company achieved ATEX 95 certification in September 2002, and now offers pulse encoders and tachogenerators fully ATEX compliant. This means system builders can now use new ATEX 95-compliant components and be confident in the reliability of their products.
Accessories
Baumer Hübner also offers its customers the following accessories: Sensor analyser, Digital converter, Interpolator, Precise interpolator / divider, Precise sine multipliers, Fibre optic transmitters, Couplings, Cable sensors.
